Ornix
Sorts any Mac folder into categories, automatically.
Ornix watches the folders you choose - Downloads, Desktop, or any other - and files every new item into a category subfolder the moment it lands. It lives in the menu bar and stays out of the way.
## Rules, not guesses
Sorting is deterministic: Apple's file-type system first, then a large extension table for RAW photos, fonts, design files and more. The same file always goes to the same place. No AI, no reading file contents, no account.
- 7 categories - Image, Video, Audio, Document, Compressed, Installer, Other
- Realtime or scheduled - sort instantly, or run a daily/weekly cleanup (free)
- Action window - see what moved, with one-click Undo
- Conflict handling - Keep Both, Replace or Skip for same-name files
- Smart rename - tidy file names as they are filed
## Pro (one-time purchase)
Unlimited watched folders, date subfolders (Year / Year-Month), custom categories, automatic conflict resolution, task-based filing and screenshot/photo/design/code subcategories.
Free to use with one watched folder. No subscription. macOS 14+.
