Squish
Smaller images and videos, automatically on your Mac.
Squish compresses images and videos locally on your Mac while keeping each file's format. It supports PNG, JPEG, HEIC and WebP images, plus MP4 and MOV videos.
Drop files on the app, its Dock icon or its menu bar icon. You can also watch a folder, including your screenshots folder, so new files are compressed as they arrive. Finder Services and Shortcuts provide other ways to send files to Squish.
Choose output quality and an optional maximum width. Compare the result with the original using a before-and-after slider, and restore the original from the Trash. Squish removes GPS location data while retaining the date, camera and other metadata. PNG remains lossless at quality 100.
Requires macOS 14 or later. €4.99 once, including every update and up to five active Macs. No subscription. The app has no analytics; online connections are for licensing and updates.
